How do we prepare students academically?

Students at our campus may take remedial courses that will help them achieve college entry level mathematics and English. Furthermore, at BCAE students enjoy an English-speaking environment with small class-sizes and specialized faculty; all without leaving their home country. During their studies our students mature and become adapted to the demands of an American institution.

College vs. University

In the United States both colleges and universities offer a bachelor’s degree (4 years of study) and usually a master’s degree (2 or 3 more years of graduate study depending on the specialization). A university is usually larger than most colleges and may also offer doctor’s degrees (PhD, MD, EdD, etc.). All U.S. colleges and universities accept foreign students and it is also easy to transfer from one school to another up to your third year of studies. It is very important to start your research on what you want to study and where you might want to study. The options are many and early planning is very important.

U.S. Accreditation
The accreditation of Broward College does not extend to or include the [name of International Center] or its students. Although Broward College accepts certain course work in transfer toward a credential from the [name of International Center] or collaborates in other ways for generation of course credits or program credentials, other colleges and universities may or may not accept this work in transfer, even if it appears on a transcript from Broward College. This decision is made by the institution subsequently considering the possibility of accepting such credits.”
